By Micheal Ives, Extreme Alaska
Week one of Extreme Alaska has flown by! Reporters have been hitting the streets and we have already seen some great stories from the Extreme team. Thanks to all our new readers and we appreciate you sticking with us as we get this ball rolling. The feedback on stories has been outstanding and we look forward to plenty more interaction with our readers/viewers in the future. Please chime in!
Week two will hopefully prove to be a bit smoother. Most of us student journalists are simply not yet masters of all trades, and this has caused a few growing pains. From those not so skilled in photography or HTML coding (myself) having trouble with picture uploading and sizing…to fantastic photographers having to dig back into their writing roots, we are all expanding our horizons a bit.
One lucky team of reporters got to follow Nanook hockey for you all weekend. Another group attended local Mixed Martial Arts fights and risked exposure to some bloodborne pathogens at ringside to get gorgeous photographs. Reporters have dug into Nanook traditions and the local arts scene. We are just getting started! The news team met last Friday to discuss topics for this new week.
Monday morning, it’s news team reassemble time. New stories will be hitting the website and new ideas will be on the table to investigate. What can week two hold for the Extreme team? News! And we can’t wait! We will be continue to bring you daily news updates and stories to keep you up on the Interior around you.
