Every Thursday at one o’clock the University of Alaska Fairbank’s music department showcases its students.

During Music at One students perform music pieces that they have been working on during the school year. The concert takes place in the Davis concert hall. “Many UAF staffers attend over their lunch hours but, we also invite the public to these recitals” said, Linda Harriger of the music department. Admittance to the events is free. Music at One will continue every Thursday until the end of the school year. According to the syllabus for the course the emphasis is on music appreciation and developing listening skills, and peer support. “We require students to attend at least 13 of our scheduled events. They must work one of the events as a practicum to gain experience working backstage” said, Harriger. For information on when the next Music at One concert is or any other event checkout the music department’s concert calendar.
