Martin Harrington, UAF Choir of the North bass singer, surprised his girlfriend Roberta Eastwood on May 2 when he sang his heart out at a reception following a one-hour performance to ask for her hand in marriage. Harrington serenaded Eastwood with Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” as the Choir of the North echoed behind him. The couple has been together for four years and will be continuing the rest of their lives together after Eastwood accepted the marriage proposal from Harrington. Harrington’s parents, Andy and Robyne, were also there and completely taken by surprise. Robyne is a term assistant professor in the Journalism Department at the UAF and her son Martin will be graduating on May 12. Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
