2017 Iditarod Ceremonial Start

73 Mushers grace us with their appearances at the 2017 Iditarod Ceremonial Start in Anchorage, Alaska. The sled dogs are overwhelmed with excitement as they take one last quick run before the official Iditarod start which will be held in Fairbanks, Alaska Monday, March 6, 2017.

It is exciting to see the amount of people who come out to support this life long event in history. It’s a happy and warming feeling to hear the dogs bark with excitement and feel the energy they provide to everyone around them.

As the announcers continually provide us information we learn something new every year, at least I do.

There is so much history provided in one short clip let alone the entire ceremonial start leading up to the big race day. Next time you are in town be sure to check out this even for your self and enjoy the overzealous pups as they run through downtown Anchorage.
